Hybrid creative team member Cassie has prepared a great Mother's Day card tutorial below using this collection.

Hi!  This is Cassie and I am excited to share with you how I create my hybrid items using digital kits from Mye De Leon.  I love using my Silhouette Cameo to create fun hybrid projects and their print & cut feature makes this so simple.  Today I am going to show you how I made a Mother’s Day card using the new You are My Sunshine kit by Mye De Leon that is available at Pixels & Company.

Step 1: I started by opening two shapes in my Silhouette Studio.  The first is called Fancy Frame with Mat and the other one is a Mother’s Day saying.  Both of these shapes are available in the Silhouette Studio Store.

Step 2: I want to turn the mat of the frame into a card.  To do that first I will ungroup the frame and mat by clicking on the ungroup button on the bottom toolbar.

Step 3: Now select the bottom shape (the mat) and select the replicate tools (the circles icon on the top right toolbar).  Then click on the “Mirror Right” option.  This will give you two shapes.  Then with the new mat selected use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move it until the two mats are overlapping slightly.

Step 4:  Next you will need to select both mats and then click the weld button at the bottom of the screen.  This will make it into one shape.

Step 5:  To fill the shapes with patterned paper, you just drag and drop.  I will first make the Silhouette Studio software smaller, but I still need to see the shapes.  I will also open the file holding the digital supplies that I want to use.  You will then click on the paper and drag it over the shape.  You want to hold it there until the shape fills.

Step 6:  You can use this same technique to import other digital Elements that you want to include.  Just drag them to a blank area in the Silhouette Studio Software.

MDL Tut 6

Step 7:  If you added Elements, you will now need to create cut lines.  The easiest way to do this is using the trace feature.  First select the trace option on the top right toolbar.  Then you will click the “Select Trace Area” and draw a square around one shape at a time.  Then adjust the “High Pass Filter” and the “Threshold” until you fill as much of the shape without the extra yellow touching.  Don’t worry you can adjust the extra later.

MDL Tut 7

Step 8: Now click the “Trace” option.  You will see extra cut lines.  Now, right click and select “Release Compound Path” .  You then want to move the design out of the way and select each extra cut area and either push the delete button on your keyboard or right click and select Delete.

Step 9: Complete steps 7 & 8 for any additional shapes you added.

MDL Tut 10

Step 10:  Now you will need to get everything ready to print.  First go up and click the page options on the top right toolbar and select the paper size to 8.5 x11 and landscape.

MDL Tut 10

Step 11:  Next you will select the Registration Mark Window on the top right toolbar and select “Show Reg Marks”.  You need these so the machine can cut out the shapes.

MDL Tut 11

Step 12: Now move the shapes around until they fit onto the cutting mat.  You might need to print and cut more than once, if the shapes don’t fit, then move them to the side until later.  Once your shapes are in place, click the print button on the top left.

MDL Tut 12

Step 13: Once the first page is printed you will send it to the Silhouette to Cut.  I use the cardstock settings.

MDL Tut 13

Step 14: Repeat steps 12 & 13 until everything has been printed and cut out.

MDL Tut 14

Step 15: Assemble your card.
